A heavily decorated but eternally approachable star, Crow has released 11 albums and won nine Grammys en route to her latest, a duets collection called Threads. Cal recordar que la Diada Nacional de Catalunya se celebra per commemorar la fi de la Guerra de Successió del 1714, fa 310 anys. I és que va ser el dia 11 de Setembre de l'any 1714 que es va produir la darrera defensa de Barcelona després de 14 mesos de setge davant el duc de Berwick. I aquell dia va significar una derrota en què es van perdre les llibertats del nostre país.

Aquest any hi ha previst 2 actes: en primer lloc la tradicional ofrena floral al monòlit dedicat al president Lluís Companys. I per la tarda, segur que l'ANC (Assamblea Nacional de Catalunya) i Òmnium Cultural indicaran un llocs on fer una concentració en aquest moment convuls per la composició política tant dividida i després de l'intent d'acord per a l'Aministia dels que van exposar-se més l'any 2017.

En Febrero de 2014 la gran Suzanne Vega junto a Jerry Leonard ofrecieron estos magníficos 18 minutos de música en el mítico estudio de la NPR Music llamado Tiny Desk:

In pop-music circles, Suzanne Vega is known almost entirely for two songs from the late 1980s: the child-abuse ballad "Luka" and a song that launched literally dozens of dance remixes, "Tom's Diner." But Vega has been making vital, inventive music the entire time — much of it folk-based, though her sound has taken many smart detours along the way — and is about to put out her first album of original material in seven years, Tales From the Realm of the Queen of Pentacles. The challenge, then, lies in capturing a snapshot of her career in only four songs.

For this Tiny Desk Concert — performed with her brilliant guitarist and producer, Gerry Leonard — Vega splits the difference evenly between old and new, bookending her set with the aforementioned classics and tucking two about-to-be-released songs in the middle. Game and good-spirited throughout, Vega performed "Luka" and "Tom's Diner" as if she hadn't played them thousands of times before — aided greatly by Leonard, who's worked extensively with David Bowie and lends these songs an extraordinary amount of color and texture. (Check out the "bells" he adds near the end of "Tom's Diner.")

Vega's songwriting gifts haven't waned at any point in her long career, and the new songs here — taken from a concept album about the way our world and the spiritual realm intersect — sound as sharp as anything she's done. It only makes sense that, nearly 30 years after her debut, she still examines new realms with grace, empathy and an explorer's spirit. --STEPHEN THOMPSON

Hoy quiero que leáis un fragmento del libro titulado "20 años entre dioses" de José Manuel Calderón en el que habla de su récord en la NBA por ser el jugador con mejor porcentaje de triples en una temporada por delante de Kyle Korver:

"...estaba Kyle Korver. Y un día, hablando de no sé qué, va y me suelta: «Dime la verdad: los últimos partidos de aquella temporada no jugaste para no empeorar el porcentaje y que yo no te quitara el título». Se acordaba bien. Era verdad que los cinco últimos partidos de esa campaña no los jugué: estaba lesionado en un codo y ya no contábamos con posibilidades de meternos en los playoffs. Evidentemente, si esos partidos hubieran tenido otra trascendencia habría forzado, pero no merecía la pena. Reconozco que yo estaba muy atento a ganar ese año el porcentaje en triples.
